Hormone Health
The rapid changes in the way you are feeling should not be blindly attributed to the “aging process” or “depression”. Your inability to lose weight likely lies in your body chemistry and not lack of “willpower”. You are likely feeling a combination of gradual hormonal balance alterations brought on by stress, activity, diet, and medications in addition to aging.
Our goal is to help you better understand why you feel this way by listening to your symptoms and looking carefully at your body’s fragile hormone balance.

Your History
At the first visit, we will review your comprehensive symptom history to best understand what is bothering you most. Please answer as honestly as you can. A focused physical exam will be performed and further testing recommended based on your symptoms and physical findings.
Saliva Testing is recommended to measure your reproductive and adrenal hormones. Saliva testing has been shown in the medical literature to be an accurate measurement of real tissue hormone levels.
Blood testing may also be performed to test
- Thyroid
- Vitamin D
- Vitamin B12
- Cholesterol
- Prostate-Specific Antigen (for men - annually)
If you have had blood tests in the last 3-6 months, please bring the results with you or make arrangements to have them sent to our office.
Insurance Coverage / Pricing
Insurance covers your office visit. If you have a deductible or co-payment, you will be responsible for paying that amount at your first visit. Many insurance carriers also cover the saliva testing. Again, if you have a deductible, your labs may go toward it.
If you do not have insurance, please discuss the costs of the program with our staff prior to testing. Pricing will vary pending results of various tests.

Your Results
You will receive a comprehensive packet with your results and recommendations for correcting imbalances.
Treatments typically consist of
- Recommended lifestyle adjustments
- Nutritional supplements
- Bio-Identical Hormones
- Individualized prescription medications
Because of the lack of local availability, we offer selected supplements for sale in our office. Many supplements that are available in discount stores are not extensively tested for quality and potency like the pharmaceutical-grade supplements that we have selected to carry in our office. You are under no obligation to buy any supplements from us, and we will always share the ingredient lists of any supplement that we recommend with you.
Looking Ahead
We will see you back in 4-6 weeks after you start your treatment. When the treatment involves only nutritional supplements, the results are gradual and usually take 3-4 weeks when coupled with sensible diet and exercise.
When hormone supplementation is given, results are often seen sooner but it is wise not to make any dosage changes until you have taken the hormones for a full month or two. We may retest you 2-6 months after your treatment begins. Remember, everyone is different, so the retesting is important for maximum safety and results. An intervention is not truly “Bio-Identical” without proof that proper hormone levels are restored after treatment.
